Abstract

Transforming a face-to-face curriculum to a blended one is not an easy task. When transforming their courses, academics face two key design challenges: (i) deciding the proportion of online to face-to-face components to be incorporated into the new course; and (ii) selecting the most appropriate delivery methods to achieve the learning outcomes. This paper describes how a blended learning design toolkit called BlendIt was developed to help academics face these design challenges. It also explains how BlendIt was used to help transform a traditional research methods course to a blended course.
