The July HERDSA SoTL SIG session will be a Connect & Collaborate session co‑facilitated by Sue Sharpe and Trisha Poole, designed to welcome new members, reconnect returning members, and consolidate the first half of the year.

This session will provide space to share interests, reflect on emerging SoTL ideas, and make connections across institutions and roles.

Whether you are new to the SIG or have been involved for some time, this session offers a low‑pressure opportunity to connect, orient yourself to the community, and contribute to shaping the direction of our upcoming activities.

Call for Proposals for the CSHE Symposium on Education, Employability and Professional Agility
Submissions close Friday 31 July

Amid industry transformations, this Symposium presented by the Centre for the Study of Higher Education and Network for Experiential Learning at the University of Melbourne will examine the opportunities emerging for graduates, educators and industries, and consider how universities can best prepare students to thrive in uncertain futures by fostering adaptability and lifelong learning. Discussions will focus on the enduring human capabilities likely to matter most — including creativity, critical thinking, ethical judgement, communication, collaboration, initiative and the capacity to learn across contexts.

We invite proposals for the presentation of research aligned with Symposium theme, including studies of higher education policy and management, teaching, learning and assessment, student experience and outcomes, and equity and inclusion. Submit your proposal by Friday 31 July.

International Wellbeing Scholarships 2026 – Applications Close 31 July
31 July 2026

Applications are now open for the International Wellbeing Scholarships 2026, offering fully funded places in online professional development programmes.

Scholarships are available in pastoral care, wellbeing teaching, and wellbeing evaluation facilitation. These evidence-informed programmes are designed for higher education academics, educators, researchers, student support professionals, and organisational leaders seeking practical approaches to strengthening student support, teaching practice, educational achievement, staff wellbeing, and organisational outcomes.

Scholarships are open to applicants from New Zealand and internationally. Applications close on 31 July 2026.
