Notice of Amendments to the HERDSA Constitution

Annual General Meeting of the Higher Educational Research and Development Society of Australasia (HERDSA) to be held in Sydney on Thursday 29th June 2017

In accordance with the constitution of HERDSA notice is hereby given of motions to amend the HERDSA constitution. A short explanation of each motion and the proposed amendments are set out in the document that can be obtained from the HERDSA web site at http://herdsa.org.au/news/notice-amendments-constitution.

The motions relate to:

A. Amending the constitution to add a third category of membership

B. Amending the Constitution to clarify the composition of the Executive (including one motion to approve an interim by-law passed by the Executive and the deletion of a by-law approved by the Executive)

C. Amending the Constitution to a reduce the length of time that voting for President-elect and Executive elections remain open

D. Amending the Constitution to reduce the length of notice to be given before a ballot to amend the Constitution is taken. There is also a motion to approved an interim by-law passed by the Executive

E. Proposed By-law on Financial Management

Vote now for HERDSA Executive 2017-2019

All HERDSA members are encouraged to cast their vote for HERDSA Executive for 2017-2019. To vote, complete the ballot form at http://herdsa.org.au/executive-election-2017 selecting the eight (8) candidates you would like to represent you on the HERDSA Executive. You must log into the HERDSA web site and be a financial member of HERDSA to view the ballot form and a cast a vote. 

The voting will be open for four weeks and will close at 5pm on 13 April 2017.

USQ is looking for three Educational Designers to work collaboratively with academics in the provision of hands on support to design and develop courses that provide stimulating, engaging and effective learning experiences for students. Teaching induction blog

Dear Colleagues

Just a reminder that the Learning and Teaching Induction MOOC Fellowship is well underway. The Fellowship is a collaboration between many universities in the Australian higher education sector. We plan to pilot the teaching induction MOOC in second semester 2017. Modules on such things as 'constructive feedback', 'teaching the first class', 'online learning' are currently under development/review. The MOOC is expected to provide approximately 20 hours of staff engagement across a semester.
