HERDSA Hong Kong Branch Dinner Dialogue – 23 October 2025

The HERDSA Hong Kong Branch hosted its signature Dinner Dialogue on 23 October 2025, bringing together local members and colleagues for an evening of engaging discussion and collegial exchange over dinner. Since its founding in 1997, the Dinner Dialogue series has been a hallmark of the Branch, providing a relaxed yet intellectually stimulating environment for educators to explore emerging issues in higher education.


Fostering educational innovations in the era of global digital futures with students as partners

Hong Kong Branch Executives shared the research on Students  as  Partners  (SaP) in the RSLEIHE project by publishing a paper Fostering educational innovations in the era of global digital futures with students as partners (SaP) - Agency of university students in the Asian context in Journal of Applied Learning & Teaching Vol. 8 No. Sp. Iss.


As a Community Partner of the eLearning Forum Asia (eLFA) 2024

Hong Kong Branch was a proud Community Partner of the eLearning Forum Asia (eLFA) 2024, which was held in Hong Kong from Decembe4th to 5th, 2024, hosted by Hong Kong Baptist University

The theme of this eLFA Empower and Embrace: Innovating Higher Education with EdTech explored the transformative potential of educational technology in shaping the future of higher education.


Resuming Dinner Dialogues after the Pandemic

On 26 Sep 24 a Dinner Dialogue* was organised  to welcome new HEDSA members in Hong Kong at Staff Club Restaurant - U.Green, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

Prof. Megan Lawton, University of Wolverhampton, was invited to share her successful experience in Flipping Learning and Teaching with the participants.

Participants engaged in meaningful exchanges in university teaching and learning enjoyed meeting like mind colleagues  in a relaxing atmosphere.


Developing Student Agency through Student-as-Partners Projects 

In this webinar, the Research Team of HERDSA Hong Kong Branch will share their recent works on promoting student-staff partnership and developing student agency in Hong Kong. Research findings from over 230 students in seven universities will be shared to stimulate discussion on factors to develop student agency in higher education.


From Band-aid to Sustainable Transformation

HERDSA Hong Kong Branch are pleased to announce an online panel discussion facilitated by Dr Anna KWAN to share and discuss arrangements of online learning, teaching and assessment during the COVID-19 outbreak and implications for higher education.

The panel will discuss major shifts and experiences in learning and teaching across six Hong Kong institutions, providing valuable insights for those of us working across Hong Kong and for our colleagues teaching well beyond Hong Kong.
