Election for HERDSA Executive 2017-2019 closing soon
13 April 2017

Thank you to all the HERDSA members who have already cast their votes for HERDSA Executive for 2017-2019. There is still time to vote by completing the ballot form at http://herdsa.org.au/executive-election-2017 Log into the HERDSA web site and select the eight (8) candidates you would like to represent you on the HERDSA Executive for the next two years. You must be a financial member of HERDSA to view the ballot form and a cast a vote. 

The voting has been open for three weeks and will close at 5pm on Thursday 13 April 2017.

This year the HERDSA Conference will see the introduction of three ongoing streams across the conference days.  The three stream topics are:

·                  Whole of institution transformation – facilitated by Dr Geoff Scott, Prof Sandra Graham and Prof Romy Lawson.

·                  Embedding employability into curriculum transformation to create career ready graduates – facilitated by Prof Dawn Bennet and Lorna Froud.

·                  Harnessing the student voice by fostering students as change agents – facilitated by  Dr Karin Crawford and Wendy Green

I-MELT Conference registration open and draft program out for 11-13 December 2017

I-MELT stands for the International Conference for Models of Engaged Learning and Teaching, and the conceptual framing for the conference are together called MELT. The conference will bring together a broad array of colleagues interested in dynamic education that uses MELT to enable students to engage in fluid thinking, make this thinking visible and articulate their skills. Colleagues from South East Asia, the Pacific Nations, the Americas, Europe, and Australasia will share research and practice around MELT currently used in undergraduate, Masters, Higher Degree by Research and the schooling sector.

Symposium On Stylus Enabled And Cloud-Based Tertiary Learning And Teaching In STEM Courses

You're invited to the RMIT Symposium on tertiary learning and teaching using pen-enabled devices. Hear from academics, researchers and experts on how digital inking is transforming the Education sector

The symposium will cover:
• Research into technology's impact on teaching and learning, with keynote presentations on the use
of the digital stylus, as opposed to pen and paper, to drive student engagement and impact
• Best practices from other Tertiary Educators and thought leaders on Digital transformation
• Provide an opportunity for academics to present their experiences
• Experience the latest devices & software designed to support Tertiary teaching and learning resources
• Workshops designed for lecturers to transform their teaching to engage 21st century learners
